DIY:Distributing responsibilities in my Dream Classroom_Teacher Aurelija->Manager
[September, 2014]
To ensure the co-operation of pupils, it is important to teach children to take responsibility from a young age. Because of this reason, different teacher often chooses a different model that assigns pupils the duties they have to perform honestly.
Before
starting to work, I made one big mistake: I thought it was enough for a
classroom to have only one position - the supervisor of the order. However,
I realized very quickly that this really was not enough, and there are
other important roles in the class that are important to keep up to.
So I made a great poster, in which students could see everyday what and which child is responsible for. As long as the students were in the first class, they had few responsibilities. With age and maturity, the number and variety of duties in our classroom grew.
Below is a list of options for what students may be responsible for in the classroom. I usually changed students duties every month (I tried to change them every week, but it did not work. Due to the fact that if the student was ill for a week, he would not have assumed responsibility for one or another duty). You can always use your own way to distribute student responsibilities.
The classroom prefect is the one who should be active student first. This is not necessarily means a good learner. A classroom prefect should be chosen by class students (by secret or open ballot).
Required duties:
- To represent the class at various meetings or events;
- Take interest about and inform the class of ill teachers, missing lessons, etc.;
-To report the information provided by the educator to the class (or information provided by the Student Council meetings).
Available duties:
- To provide information about the various activities at school and not only the events organized, contests

The classroom prefect's assistant is the one who, in case of need, takes over the duties of prefect and /or assists him in the performance of his duties.Required duties:
- To perform the duties of classroom prefect if he is not in school or he could not;
- Help for classroom prefect if there is too much work for him.
Available duties:
-Go to all kind of meetings with the classroom prefect.
The classroom supervisor is a person who supervises the general order in the classroom (board cleaning, maintenance and distribution of textbooks, execution of other duties and etc.) with the help of one's or a teacher.

Events organizer group is a group of active children who are responsible for various events. The number of event organizers in the classroom should not be limited - activity is always good.
Required duties:
- Make class appearances for various events;
- Organize traditional holidays in class.
Available duties:
- Helping the teacher to organize class meetings;
- Take greetings for classmates on birthdays.

The financier (in the older classes) is the one who collects money for copies, a class fund, events or trips. He also informs teachers about the number and list of students who didn't gave money. Tells teacher if there is not enough money in the classroom for the right job. Conducts a class fund accounting journal.

The copy-maker is a pupil who can make the necessary number of copies for a class on request. The copy-maker must work closely with the class financier - if he does not, he should perform the role of a financier and vice versa - if there is no copy-maker, the financier should replace it. The copy-maker should introduce himself for each class teacher so that teachers know to whom give the material.

Of course, you can take a variety of responsibilities and constantly allocate them to different students. Below I add some ideas. I made these colorful cards earlier, but unfortunately I did not use them in my class.
